Nicki dehoog is a painter, writer and musician, living in the hills, South east of Perth, Western Australia. She grew up in a small fruit picking and timber town, and has since moved to an even smaller fruit picking and timber town. In between times, she has taught in Perth high schools, primary schools, and through the University of Western Australia, recently facilitating a research project on the effects of singing on the elderly and those living with dementia. She has been involved with Freefall Writing and Dr Barbara Vesselago Turner, for many years, and has brought Dr Turner to Perth for her famous writer’s retreats many times. Nicki has had works published in magazines, anthologies and has won one State writer’s prize.
